Tips & Tricks

Honing the game skills can only happen through patience and an interest to learn the game and there is no shortcut to success. However, these tips and tricks will help you in Call Break game:

  • Trump Use - A spade is the only trump in the call break game. A trump helps you score more and hence it is crucial to use the trump wisely. It is important to note that you cannot use a trump when you hold the suit played by your opponent. This trick is pretty useful, only if and when you learn how to use it.
  • Calculated Risks - Think before you predict. Depending on the cards that you hold, you can take a call on how many tricks/hands you can make. There is a winner when a card is discarded by the players on their turns. The game begins when you predict. So, a strong idea about the cards you have been dealt and the number of hands you can score will help you make a winner. This happens only after you have played the game for a long time.
  • Keep an eye out - Card games are about predictions and it is the same case with Call Break. A player needs to predict the card each player might have depending on the previous round. For instance, a player begins the game with a diamond suit and another opponent plays the trump, this means this player does not have a diamond suit. You need game awareness when playing cards with experienced players as the game is played even before it actually begins.
  • Set realistic goals - You must set achievable goals while playing the Call Break game. Before you make a prediction, you must ensure to set your goal to win at least the same number of hands or higher. For example, if you have predicted four hands before the game, you must win at least four hands or more to win four points. Now, if you manage to score more than 4 hands, you will score bonus points for the extra hands scored.
  • Eyes on the score - The scoring system of the game is points based. Your individual score increases with the rise in the number of hands you win. Also, it depends on how many hands you predict before the start of the game. At the end, if you score fewer hands than what you predicted, you will lose an equivalent amount of points. If you score extra hands than your predicted hands, you earn 0.1 bonus points for each extra hand.
